Setting

Today we learned that a story can have more than one setting. We also discovered that the setting really helps us to visualize the story. When we know where and when a story takes place, it makes it easier to create a mental picture. We looked at verbs that end with an -s suffix today. We analyzed the words we sorted to figure out what each word had in common and how they were different than nouns. We learned how to write a question at the beginning of our writing to help hook our readers. This question should be about the topic but make the reader want to know more. Do you like going to the movies? Come back soon to find out about our adventures in descriptive writing!

Homework- Read the decodable reader and add it to your book box. Practice your spelling words.
